Supporting members are the bedrock of our organization, made up of individual growers, small business owners, other people and organizations who support our causes. Their steady support ensures that the Cannabis Growers of Canada continues to operate and lead the Canadian cannabis industry to a brighter future.
The CGC online community is built for these members and includes news and a private forum where members can connect to like-minded individuals and businesses cross-country to discuss what matters to our industry. Supporting members have access to this community and can attend all CGC events.
Growing memberships include all the rights of our supporting members but come with the additional benefit of access to the online marketplace. By joining our Growing members you will be able to trade with the largest cannabis growing community in Canada.
The online marketplace allows you to view and post online classifieds, easily and safely trade with a whole community of business owners and entrepreneurs. Growing members can access all product categories except for cannabis itself, which is reserved for verified Participating members.
Do you have an intractable passion driving you to grow the best cannabis you possibly can? By joining the CGC as a Participating member you will know that you can count yourself among Canada’s most talented growers. Together you’ll be working to elevate our industry to new heights.
In order to unlock the full benefits, Participating members must undergo regular testing of their product and an examination of their growing practices prior to being able to display the prestigious CGC-Certified badge. As such, the quality of your product and growing techniques are of paramount importance. Upon passing you earn the right to display this badge and count yourself as one of the world’s most elite cannabis growers.
What does the CGC hope to achieve?
The CGC aims to build a sophisticated and respected cannabis industry in Canada – one that benefits both patients and communities with the creation of quality cannabis products as well as the jobs and economic growth that such an industry will provide. Over many decades small cannabis growers organically built the globally recognized “BC Bud” brand. The CGC aims to leverage this success and secure Canada’s role as the world’s leading producer of premium cannabis.
What challenges are the CGC facing?
Cannabis has long suffered from a social stigma engineered by agencies directly benefiting from the ongoing legal status of this agricultural product as a controlled substance. Furthermore, the public is not adequately informed of the medicinal properties of cannabis and health practitioners are reluctant to prescribe this life-saving plant. Recent regulatory changes are inadequate for supplying approved patients with the medicine they require and the CGC is joining their struggle to maintain access to safe and effective cannabis.
Who are the CGC members?
Our members are any of the 36,000+ PPL or DPPL license holders under the MMAR regulations, applicants and licensed producers under the MMPR regulations, as well as any individual or business who supports our causes.
What are the CGC’s thoughts about cannabis and cannabis growers?
Cannabis is one of Canada’s most valuable agricultural products. Canadian growers have built a global reputation of excellence in cannabis production and should be recognized for this achievement. We have only begun to see cannabis’ medicinal value and further research could revolutionize the way we treat countless debilitating and fatal conditions. Canada should be at the forefront of this global trend.
